Week 2 in the action research class has been very enlightening.  Teachers who embrace action research or action inquiry are among the deep thinkers of our society, yet they understand that research must also be practical and applicable to specific situations and needs.  It is indeed a talent to use deep thought to address issues in a simple way so that all can embrace the changes.  To simplify is not to be simple.
To simplify is to be real in a world where the important people are overworked and underpaid.
Teachers cherish simplicity of design and good action inquiry can result in simple projects that make huge improements in the school environment.  Ideally the results positively impact teachers and students.

A simple assignment from my mentor may result in a great action research project for me.  A teacher asked for software to help with plagiarism.  Yet the school does not know the extent of its plagiarism problem so that it can measure results after program implementation.

I have also received another assignment from my mentor to write the digital citizenship documents to be placed on the school website.  Right now he wants a document for parents and a different one for students.  This will be fun and I can work on it while I am traveling with my job.  Nights in hotel rooms are perfect for homework, right?

Anyway, this has been a good week.,
